The SG2400-W1 is an unmanaged 24 port desktop home gigabit ethernet switch for users who need more wired connections without adding configuration work. It provides 24 adaptive 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports, so desktop PCs, IP cameras, access points, printers, NVRs and other Ethernet devices can connect through one compact switch. Each port negotiates the available speed automatically, making the switch suitable for mixed legacy and gigabit networks.

For an office or home network, the main benefit is straightforward expansion. Connect the switch to your router or existing network, plug in the end devices, and the ports begin forwarding traffic without a management interface or software setup. The switch supports full- and half-duplex auto-negotiation, automatic MDI/MDI-X, IEEE 802.3x flow control and store-and-forward switching. This helps reduce everyday installation issues when different computers, cameras and network appliances are used together.

Three Modes for Different Deployment Needs

A three-position DIP switch lets an installer select Default, VLAN or Extend mode with one physical control. Default mode provides normal switching and supports loop alarm functions. VLAN mode isolates ports 1-22 from one another while allowing communication with ports 23 and 24. This is useful in guest networks, IP surveillance systems or shared office wiring where connected devices should not communicate directly with each other.

Extend mode is intended for selected long-distance monitoring deployments. Ports 1-22 support 100Mbps speed-reduction negotiation, and 10Mbps operation can reach up to 250 meters under suitable cable and installation conditions. Ports 23 and 24 work as aggregation ports in this mode. Actual distance and stability depend on cable quality, connectors, electromagnetic conditions and the connected devices, so installers should verify the link before final deployment.

Quiet Operation and Simple Physical Installation

The fanless design removes the noise and moving-part maintenance associated with small active-cooled switches. It fits well in reception areas, classrooms, hotel rooms, retail counters, home offices and small equipment cabinets where a constantly running fan would be distracting. Port Link/Act and speed indicators provide a quick view of link status, traffic activity and negotiated speed. The 48Gbps switching bandwidth and 35.71Mpps forwarding rate support line-speed forwarding across the switch, while the 8K MAC address table gives the device enough address capacity for typical small and medium-sized Ethernet deployments.
