Why Choose the CF101-Mini-Sliver Ethernet to Fiber Optic Single Mode Media Converter?
If you’re running a network that needs to bridge copper and fiber over long distances, this media converter is a straightforward solution. It takes a standard 10/100Mbps RJ45 signal and converts it to 155Mbps single-mode fiber, pushing the reach from the usual 100 meters to up to 120 kilometers. No configuration, no software – just plug in the cables and it works. That’s the kind of simplicity that matters when you’re deploying IP cameras across a campus, linking two office buildings, or extending a warehouse network to a remote security shack.
The metal casing isn’t just for looks – it pulls heat away from the internal components naturally, so the converter keeps running stable even in a hot wiring closet or an outdoor enclosure without a fan. And with 4KV surge protection on the Ethernet port, you get an extra layer of safety against voltage spikes that might travel along the copper line. For an IT admin or a small business owner, this means fewer site visits and less downtime.
We’ve kept the design compact (about the size of a pack of cards) so you can tuck it behind a desk, mount it on a wall, or drop it into a patch panel area. The external DC power adapter (5-12V, <3W) keeps heat low and is easy to replace if needed. Whether you’re running Cat5e or Cat6 on one side and single-mode fiber on the other, the CF101-Mini-Sliver handles the conversion cleanly with low latency (≤5µs) and supports jumbo frames up to 9K for better performance when transferring large files.
Who is this for? Network technicians setting up long-distance links, system integrators building security or surveillance networks, and IT managers at small-to-medium enterprises who need a reliable, no-fuss fiber extension without learning a command line. It’s also a solid choice for ISPs doing last-mile connections where fiber is available but customer equipment only has copper.
