Industrial Ethernet Switching for Long-Distance Field Networks
The IES100-4E1F is an unmanaged 4 Port Industrial Ethernet Switch with 1 SC Fiber Port DIN Rail installation for connecting local Ethernet devices to a longer fiber link. It is a practical choice when standard copper cabling is not enough for an industrial line, control cabinet, traffic site, or remote monitoring point. Four 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports serve PLCs, sensors, IPCs, cameras, access controllers, or other Ethernet devices, while the 100Base-X SC fiber port carries the network connection beyond the usual 100-meter copper limit.
There is no web interface, IP address, or software setup to manage. Connect the DC supply, plug in the copper and fiber cables, and the switch starts forwarding traffic. Auto-negotiation handles 10/100 Mbps speed and half/full-duplex operation. Auto MDI/MDI-X also removes the need to check cable type during installation, which helps technicians complete cabinet wiring faster and reduces avoidable commissioning work.
Built for Control Cabinets and Harsh Operating Areas
Unlike a basic office switch, this DIN rail industrial Ethernet switch uses a metal housing, fanless natural cooling, and an IP40 enclosure. The design avoids a moving fan that can collect dust or become a maintenance point. It supports an operating temperature from -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for outdoor cabinets, factory floors, roadside equipment boxes, and areas where temperature changes are part of daily operation.
Dual redundant DC power input accepts 12 to 58 VDC through a 6-pin Phoenix terminal. If one power source or cable path fails, the second input can keep the switch online. Overload protection and reverse-polarity protection add practical safeguards during field installation. Imported surge protection components help reduce the impact of induced high voltage and transient events; optional IEC surge protection specifications are available for projects that require them. IEC Class A EMC protection, together with resistance to electrostatic discharge and electrical fast transients, supports more predictable operation near motors, drives, and other industrial equipment.
Simple Expansion for Industrial Ethernet and Fiber Links
The switch uses store-and-forward technology and provides wire-speed forwarding on all Ethernet ports. A 1.2 Gbps switching bandwidth, 512K packet buffer, 1K MAC address table, and support for jumbo frames up to 10K help it handle ordinary control, monitoring, and machine-to-machine traffic without adding configuration overhead. Link and activity indicators on the RJ45 and fiber interfaces give maintenance staff a quick way to check cable status at the cabinet.
For a small factory network, the IES100-4E1F can connect four nearby devices and extend the uplink through multimode or single-mode fiber. Multimode links can reach up to 2 km depending on the selected interface and fiber, while single-mode options cover 2 to 100 km. It also fits traffic control systems, building automation, industrial CCTV backhaul, data center monitoring, and IIoT edge installations where a compact fiber-to-copper connection is needed.
This unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch is intended for IT administrators, control engineers, system integrators, and maintenance teams who need stable operation with minimal configuration. Its DIN rail form, low power consumption below 5 W, dual DC inputs, and three-year warranty help keep installation and long-term service work straightforward.
