Why a 24 Volt PoE Switch for Your Surveillance Network?
If you’ve been running 12V-24V DC power lines for cameras or access points, this 24 volt PoE switch fits right into your existing setup. The SF620NP delivers non-standard PoE (passive, pin 4/5+ 7/8-), meaning no need to swap out power adapters or add injectors. It’s a straightforward plug-and-play solution for small-to-medium IP camera projects where distance or isolation matters.
The switch packs 6 Fast Ethernet PoE ports (10/100Mbps) and two dedicated uplink ports. Flip the DIP switch to Extend mode, and ports 1-6 drop to 10Mbps but push signals up to 250m over standard Cat5e cable. At the same time, those six ports are isolated from each other, only talking to the uplink ports – a handy way to cut broadcast noise and keep camera traffic separate. For day-to-day use, keep it in Standard mode for full-speed 100Mbps communication between all ports.
- 24V DC input – works with your existing 12-24V power source, flexible for field installations.
- 250m transmission – covers long corridors, parking lots, or warehouse aisles without repeaters.
- VLAN isolation – reduces broadcast storms, improves security for camera segments.
- Metal housing – runs cool without a fan, reliable in dusty or semi-outdoor environments.
- Desktop or wall-mount – fits in a junction box, on a shelf, or strapped to a pole.
IT administrators and system integrators will appreciate the no-config simplicity. No web interface, no VLAN tagging hassles – just wire up, flip the DIP switch if needed, and let the hardware handle isolation. This 24 volt PoE switch is built for monitoring networking where reliability and distance are the real priorities.
