Unmanaged 8 Port Gigabit Switch PoE, 2 RJ45 Uplink, Non-Standard 12/24V Passive PoE, 250m Long Range, VLAN Isolation, Desktop Metal for IP Camera & Surveillance

8 port gigabit switch PoE with 2 uplink ports, delivering non-standard 12/24V passive PoE on ports 1-8. Supports 250m long-range transmission & VLAN isolation – ideal for hotel, shop & SMB video surveillance networks.

SG820NP
Port Description

8 x 10/100/1000Base-T PoE downlink ports (passive PoE, 12/24V selectable, max 1A per port) + 2 x 10/100/1000Base-T uplink copper ports
  • 8 gigabit PoE ports with selectable 12V or 24V passive PoE output (max 1A per port)
  • 250m long-range transmission mode (10Mbps forced) for extended cable runs
  • Port-based VLAN isolation for broadcast storm reduction and collision domain separation
  • Metal shell, fanless design, natural cooling for reliable 24/7 operation
  • Plug-and-play deployment – no configuration software or IT staff required
  • Two gigabit uplink copper ports for easy connection to NVR or backbone

Practical Power & Distance for IP Surveillance Deployments

Setting up an 8 port gigabit switch poe for a video surveillance network often hits two snags: power distance limits and broadcast chaos. The SG820NP tackles both head-on. It provides passive PoE (12V or 24V selectable) on all eight downlink ports, following the 4/5+ and 7/8- polarity – exactly what many fixed IP cameras, door access controllers, and older PTZ units expect. No need for extra injectors or messy power cabling near each device.

When you flip the toggle switch to force ports 1-8 into 10Mbps mode, the switch extends transmission up to 250 meters over existing Cat5e or Cat6 cable. That’s a solid answer for long corridors, parking lot corners, or warehouse ceilings where running new cable is expensive or impossible. And because all eight PoE ports are isolated from each other, broadcast storms won’t jump between cameras – they only communicate through the two gigabit uplink ports (ports 9-10). This isolation keeps the network stable even with dozens of cameras streaming simultaneously.

For small to medium hotels, retail shops, supermarkets, or residential complexes with 8-16 cameras, this switch is a straightforward, no-configuration solution. Plug in the cameras, connect the uplink to your main router or NVR, select the voltage that matches your devices, and you’re live. The metal shell dissipates heat passively (no fan noise), and the external power adapter keeps the unit slim enough for desktop or shelf placement.
