Designed for Real-World Surveillance Deployments
An 8 port PoE switch with uplink is the backbone of a modern IP camera system. The SL821P-DPM combines 8 Fast Ethernet PoE ports (ports 2-8 support IEEE802.3 af/at, up to 25.4W each) with a dedicated high-power port 1 that delivers up to 60W via PoE++ (IEEE802.3bt). This means you can power a PTZ camera or a Wi-Fi access point from the same switch without extra adapters. Two 10/100/1000Base-T uplink ports and one 1000Base-X SFP slot give you flexible fiber or copper uplink options to connect to your core network.
Network Isolation and Extended Reach
A simple DIP switch on the front panel lets you force ports 1-8 to 10Mbps mode, extending transmission distance up to 250m over existing twisted-pair cabling – perfect for parking lots or warehouse perimeters. In VLAN mode, these eight ports are isolated from each other while still communicating with the uplink ports, reducing broadcast storms and making the network more stable. This is a practical 8 port PoE switch with uplink for IT admins who need to segment surveillance traffic without buying a managed switch.
Built for Low-Maintenance Operation
The metal housing and internal AC power supply keep the unit cool even under full PoE load (max 120W total). No configuration needed – plug in cameras and the switch automatically detects PoE devices to protect non-compliant equipment. An optional AI watchdog function automatically restarts a PoE port if no data traffic is detected for about 3 minutes, which is a lifesaver for remote cameras that freeze. Add the optional 6KV common-mode surge protection, and this switch becomes a reliable choice for hotels, retail stores, and small offices.
