Fiber to RJ45 Media Converter That Just Works
If you need to bridge a 100Base-TX twisted-pair network with a 100Base-SX/LX fiber link, this unmanaged fiber to RJ45 media converter is a straightforward solution. It comes with 4 SC optical ports running at 155Mbps and 2 standard 10/100Mbps RJ45 ports. No config, no software — plug the cables, power it up, and the link comes alive. That’s it.
The converter uses store-and-forward switching with a 1.2Gbps backplane bandwidth, so even when you’re pushing jumbo frames (up to 2048 bytes), the traffic moves without hiccups. The metal casing does a solid job dissipating heat — no fan, no noise, and it runs stable from -20°C to +60°C. For a small office, a surveillance setup, or an industrial cabinet where you need to run fiber to RJ45 without messing around, this box handles the job.
All ports support auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, so you don’t need crossover cables. The optical ports use SC connectors (single-mode or multi-mode, depending on the SFP you choose) and can reach up to 120km with single-mode fiber. The RJ45 ports stick to the usual 100-meter limit over Cat5. The whole thing weighs less than 0.3kg, fits on a desk or mounts on a wall, and consumes under 3W — cheap to run, easy to maintain.
- 4x 100Base-X SC optical ports (155M) for long-haul fiber links
- 2x 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports for local copper devices
- Plug-and-play: zero configuration, auto-negotiation, auto MDI/MDI-X
- Metal housing, fanless, wide temperature range (-20°C to +60°C)
- Jumbo frame support (2048 bytes), store-and-forward switching
