Industrial PoE Connectivity for Remote and Harsh Sites
The IES100-8P2F is an unmanaged 8 Port Industrial PoE Switch with 2 SC Fiber Optical Ports, built for network points where standard office switches are not a good fit. It connects up to eight 10/100Mbps Ethernet devices and provides two 155Mbps SC fiber links for longer-distance communication between control cabinets, roadside boxes, production areas, or remote buildings. Because the switch works without software configuration, technicians can install it, connect the cables, and bring the network online without adding a management task to the project.
For IP cameras, wireless access points, intercoms, access-control terminals, and other powered devices, all eight RJ45 ports support IEEE 802.3af/at standard PoE. Each port can provide up to 25.4W after detecting whether the connected device complies with the PoE standard. This detection helps prevent power from being applied to ordinary non-PoE equipment. The result is a practical way to deploy field devices with one Ethernet cable for both data and power, reducing separate power wiring and making installation work easier in locations where outlets are limited.
Fiber Uplinks for Longer Cable Runs
The two SC fiber ports provide a useful backbone connection for industrial Ethernet networks. Depending on the selected optical module and fiber type, the available transmission distance ranges from 550m or 2km over multimode fiber to 2km through 100km over single-mode fiber. This makes the switch suitable for linking camera poles, factory workshops, traffic-control cabinets, and buildings that cannot be connected reliably with copper cable. Fiber also helps separate network segments electrically, which is useful in areas exposed to ground potential differences or electrical interference.
Designed for Continuous Field Operation
Industrial installations often face temperature changes, dust, moisture, surges, vibration, and limited access for maintenance. The metal IP40 housing, fanless natural cooling, and -40°C to +85°C operating range allow the switch to work in outdoor cabinets, factory floors, utility rooms, and other demanding locations. There is no cooling fan to collect dust or become a regular replacement item. Imported surge protection devices, EMC protection, and electrostatic and pulse immunity help reduce the risk of service interruptions caused by lightning-induced surges and electrical noise. These protections do not replace proper grounding and external surge protection, but they add another layer of protection at the network edge.
Dual redundant DC power inputs allow the switch to remain supplied when one power source is interrupted. Overload protection and reverse-polarity protection also reduce avoidable damage during cabinet wiring and maintenance. With a compact 139 × 108 × 50mm body and DIN-rail mounting, the unit fits neatly into control panels without taking up rack space. Its low minimum power consumption and fanless design help limit heat inside enclosed cabinets.
Where It Fits Best
This industrial 8-port PoE switch is a practical choice for IP surveillance, industrial automation, road traffic control, building automation, access control, and monitoring systems. It suits system integrators, plant engineers, network installers, and IT teams that need dependable plug-and-play connectivity rather than VLAN or remote management features. For a small industrial IoT network, it provides a straightforward combination of local PoE access ports, fiber uplinks, redundant power, and wide-temperature operation.
