Industrial Ethernet Connectivity for Harsh Site Conditions
The IES300-5E is a 5 Port Gigabit Industrial Ethernet Switch DIN-Rail Unmanaged for control cabinets, roadside equipment, building automation, and small industrial network segments. It provides five 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 ports, including four downlink ports and one copper uplink port. Each port automatically detects the connected speed and supports half/full duplex negotiation, so technicians can connect PLCs, sensors, controllers, cameras, workstations, or other Ethernet devices without manual port setup.
For many field installations, the main concern is not peak bandwidth but whether the switch will keep working when the cabinet gets hot, cold, dusty, electrically noisy, or difficult to access. This DIN-Rail unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch uses a fanless metal housing and natural cooling. With a working temperature range from -45°C to +85°C, it can be installed in outdoor control boxes, factory floors, traffic cabinets, and unconditioned utility rooms where a standard office switch may be a poor fit. The IP40 enclosure helps protect the internal electronics from solid objects, while the fanless design removes a common failure point and avoids fan noise.
Simple Deployment with Gigabit Performance
As an unmanaged Gigabit industrial switch, the unit works out of the box. There is no web interface, license, IP address, or software configuration to maintain. Plug in the Ethernet cables, apply DC power, and the switch starts forwarding traffic. This keeps installation and replacement work straightforward for field engineers and maintenance teams. Store-and-forward switching, a 10Gbps switching bandwidth, and a 7.44Mpps forwarding rate provide smooth traffic handling for compact automation networks, IP monitoring, access control, and building management systems.
All five RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation and up to 100 meters over suitable copper cabling. Automatic MDI/MDI-X removes the need to check cable type during installation. Line-speed forwarding helps reduce unnecessary waiting when several devices exchange control data or monitoring traffic at the same time. The 16K MAC address table also gives the switch enough room for typical small industrial network expansions without adding a management burden.
Power Protection for Remote Cabinets
The switch accepts 12V to 58V DC input and supports dual redundant power supplies through a 6-core Phoenix terminal. If one DC source fails, the second source can keep the network link active, which is useful for traffic control, automation panels, and remote monitoring cabinets where a service visit takes time. Overload protection and reverse-polarity protection help reduce installation errors and protect the unit during field wiring.
Imported surge protection devices are used at both the signal and power sides. The design supports specified surge, electrostatic discharge, and electrical fast transient immunity levels, helping the switch handle induced voltage and common electrical disturbances. IEC Class A EMC protection is suited to electrically busy industrial environments. These protections do not replace proper grounding or site-level surge protection, but they provide an additional layer for everyday network operation.
Built for Practical Industrial Networking
With dimensions of 139 × 108 × 50 mm and a weight below 0.6 kg, the switch fits compact control cabinets without taking much DIN-rail space. Power consumption stays below 5W, helping limit cabinet heat and long-term operating cost. Yellow and green Link/ACT indicators let technicians check Gigabit and 100Mbps connections directly at the panel, while a green power LED provides a quick status check.
This 5 port industrial Gigabit Ethernet switch is a practical choice for system integrators, plant maintenance teams, IT administrators, and small businesses extending Ethernet into harsher locations. It is suitable for PLC and HMI networks, road traffic control, factory monitoring, building automation, security monitoring, and small data center support systems. When the project needs reliable copper Gigabit connectivity, DIN-Rail installation, wide-temperature operation, and minimal day-to-day management, the IES300-5E keeps the network setup clear and service work predictable.
