Imported surge protection components help reduce the risk from lightning-induced voltage and transient events; optional surge test performance is available according to the specified configuration.
Fiber distance options for different layouts
The standard optical interface is an SC port, with optical configurations available for multimode and single-mode deployments. Multimode options cover typical distances such as 550 m or 2 km, while single-mode versions can support 2 km to 100 km depending on the selected optics and wavelength. This gives system designers room to connect equipment inside a building, across a plant, between traffic cabinets, or from a remote field site back to a control room. The DIN-Rail form factor helps place the converter inside a control cabinet without using valuable rack space.
