Reverse PoE 8-port gigabit switch powered via PoE input on ports 1-9, with DC output and PoE out on port 10. Ideal for powering ONUs and access switches without extra wiring.

SL820RP
Port Description

8 × 10/100Base-TX PoE input ports (ports 1-8), 1 × 10/100/1000Base-T PoE input port (port 9), 1 × 10/100/1000Base-T PoE output port (port 10)
  • Reverse PoE: ports 1-9 receive power, port 10 supplies PoE out – no extra power source at the switch location
  • Ultra-wide input voltage 15-48VDC, works with solar, battery, or standard 48V PSE
  • DC jack delivers 12V/1A to non-PoE devices like a small ONU or sensor
  • One-touch VLAN isolation for physical traffic separation
  • 9K jumbo frame support improves throughput for large file transfers
  • Fanless metal design, -20°C to +60°C operating temperature
  • Plug-and-play, zero configuration – ideal for non-IT staff

Why you need a reverse PoE 8-port gigabit switch for edge deployments

Setting up network access points in hard-to-reach spots—like ceiling-mounted ONUs, outdoor enclosures, or remote office corners—usually means running separate power cables or installing extra outlets. That adds time, cost, and maintenance headaches. This 8-port gigabit switch, PoE powered through its own upstream ports, flips the traditional power model: instead of the switch powering downstream devices, it draws power from the PoE input on ports 1-9 and can then supply 12V/1A DC via its jack or feed PoE out on port 10 using spare pairs (4/5+,7/8-).

In practice, you connect a PoE source (e.g., a PoE injector or another PoE switch) to any of the first nine ports, and the switch boots up. Then you use port 10 to power a camera, another switch, or even a small ONU—no extra power brick needed. The wide input voltage range (15–48VDC) also makes it compatible with solar battery systems or 48V telecom plants. For IT admins managing scattered client devices, this eliminates the need to run separate power circuits, lowering both installation labor and ongoing operational load.

This unit is fully plug-and-play—no configuration required. The metal housing, fanless cooling, and -20°C to +60°C working range make it suitable for semi-industrial environments like factory floors or warehouse network closets. With support for 9K jumbo frames and 2K MAC table, it handles moderate traffic without bottleneck. And the one-key VLAN isolation lets you physically separate traffic for security-sensitive segments without touching a CLI.
