Industrial switching for high-bandwidth field networks

The IS830-20E4F is a 24-port L3 managed industrial Ethernet fiber switch built for control cabinets, factory floors, transport networks, surveillance systems, and distributed utility sites. It combines 20 auto-sensing 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 ports with 4 1/10G SFP+ uplink slots, giving installers plenty of copper access ports while keeping fiber uplinks ready for backbone traffic. If your network is growing beyond a basic access switch, this 24-port L3 managed industrial Ethernet fiber switch with 4 SFP+ 10G uplink DIN rail mounting provides room to expand without replacing the entire switch platform.

For day-to-day traffic, all ports support non-blocking, wire-speed forwarding. The 598 Gbps switching capacity and 89.28 Mpps forwarding rate help keep video streams, control data, SCADA traffic, and business applications moving when many endpoints transmit at the same time. The four SFP+ slots accept Gigabit SFP or 10G SFP+ modules, so the same switch can connect nearby cabinets over multimode fiber or remote sites over single-mode fiber. Depending on the selected optics, transmission distances can reach up to 120 km.

Layer 3 control without adding another routing box

The L3 software supports IPv4 and IPv6 management, static routes, default routes, and software-based routing. This lets network teams separate production devices, cameras, office terminals, and management traffic into practical VLAN and subnet boundaries. IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, protocol-based VLAN, MAC-based VLAN, Voice VLAN, QinQ, Access, Trunk, and Hybrid port modes cover common industrial and enterprise layouts. Static aggregation and LACP can also combine links where higher availability or additional bandwidth is needed.

Reliability matters when a switch sits in a remote cabinet and a technician cannot reach it immediately. The switch supports STP, RSTP, MSTP, and ITU-T G.8032 ERPS. Ring recovery can be completed in less than 20 ms under the specified ERPS conditions, helping restore communication after a cable or path failure. It supports chain, star, ring, tangent ring, intersecting ring, coupling ring, and double-star layouts. Up to 250 ERPS rings and 250 devices per ring are supported, giving system integrators flexibility when building large field networks.

Security and traffic control for mixed devices

Industrial networks often combine trusted controllers with unmanaged sensors, cameras, and third-party equipment. ACL rules can filter traffic from Layer 2 through Layer 4 using MAC addresses, IP addresses, protocols, TCP/UDP ports, port ranges, VLANs, and other matching fields. 802.1X and MAC authentication, RADIUS, IP-MAC-VLAN-Port binding, DHCP Snooping, ARP inspection, IP source protection, port isolation, MAC learning limits, and anti-DoS controls help reduce unwanted access. QoS provides eight output queues per port, 802.1p and DSCP mapping, rate limiting, packet filtering, and SP, WRR, or SP+WRR scheduling for traffic that cannot tolerate delay.

For multicast applications such as IP video and industrial monitoring, IGMP Snooping, MLD Snooping, multicast VLAN, and fast leave reduce unnecessary traffic on endpoint ports. Administrators can check link status, traffic counters, CPU and memory use, system logs, LLDP neighbors, cable diagnostics, and ping results through the web interface, CLI, SNMP, or the ONV NMS platform. HTTPS, SSH, SSL, user-level permissions, and password protection support safer remote maintenance.

Designed for cabinets, not office desks

The aluminum alloy housing, fanless cooling, and 12–48 VDC redundant power inputs suit installations where dust, vibration, temperature changes, and limited service access are everyday concerns. The switch operates from -40°C to +80°C, uses a compact 166 × 149 × 68 mm enclosure, and supports both desktop placement and DIN rail mounting. A 6 kV lightning protection rating and industrial EMC test performance add another layer of protection for field deployment. Dual DC inputs can keep the network online when one power feed fails, while the FAULT contact provides a simple way to connect power-loss alarms to a control system.

This managed industrial Ethernet fiber switch is a practical fit for machine-to-machine networks, factory automation, railway and road infrastructure, IP surveillance backbones, renewable energy sites, and small-to-medium industrial data rooms. It is non-PoE, so cameras or access points requiring power must use separate power equipment. The switch includes a five-year warranty and lifelong maintenance support, helping operators plan long service cycles with fewer replacement concerns.
