36-Port L3 Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch for High-Density Networks

The IS830-24E8F4F-60W is built for industrial networks that need more than basic connectivity. It combines 24 Gigabit RJ45 access ports, 8 Gigabit SFP fiber ports, and 4 dual-speed 1/10G SFP+ ports in a 1U rack-mount chassis. In practical terms, this is a 36-port L3 managed industrial ethernet switch with 8 SFP 4 SFP+ 10G uplink rack mount design, giving network teams enough copper and fiber capacity to connect field devices while keeping high-volume traffic away from the access layer.

For a factory floor, transport control room, power substation, or small data room, the port mix helps avoid an early switch replacement. Copper ports serve PLCs, cameras, access controllers, workstations, and other Ethernet devices over standard twisted-pair cabling. The 8 SFP slots extend links over fiber where electrical isolation, longer distance, or protection from electromagnetic interference matters. Four 1/10G SFP+ uplinks provide a practical path to aggregation switches, servers, storage systems, or another industrial Ethernet switch without forcing the entire network to move to 10G at once.

The switch forwards traffic at wire speed with a 598Gbps switching capacity and 107.14Mpps forwarding rate. This matters when multiple video streams, control data, monitoring traffic, and office applications share the same infrastructure. Static routing and default routing allow the switch to perform Layer 3 traffic forwarding between network segments, reducing unnecessary traffic across the core. IPv4 and IPv6 management support also makes it suitable for networks that are gradually updating their addressing plans.

Network redundancy is handled through STP, RSTP, MSTP, and ITU-T G.8032 ERPS. ERPS recovery can be less than 20ms under the specified conditions, while the spanning-tree options support common redundant uplink and ring designs. If a fiber path is cut or a switch-to-switch link fails, traffic can be redirected through the backup path instead of waiting for manual intervention. Up to 250 ERPS rings and up to 254 devices per ring support larger distributed deployments.

VLAN, QinQ, Voice VLAN, port isolation, link aggregation, and multicast controls help administrators separate traffic by role and application. IGMP Snooping and MLD Snooping are useful for IP surveillance, passenger information systems, and other multicast-heavy services. QoS provides 802.1p and DSCP priority mapping, eight output queues per port, and SP, WRR, or mixed scheduling, so time-sensitive control or voice traffic can receive appropriate treatment during busy periods.

Security controls cover more than a basic password. The IS830-24E8F4F-60W supports 802.1X and MAC authentication, IP-MAC-VLAN-Port binding, DHCP Snooping, ARP inspection, ACL filtering from Layer 2 to Layer 4, port isolation, storm control, and anti-DoS measures. These features give IT administrators practical tools to restrict unknown devices, limit broadcast problems, and control access between departments or field zones.

Daily maintenance can be handled through HTTPS Web management, CLI via console, Telnet or SSH 2.0, and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. LLDP, RMON, system logs, traffic statistics, cable diagnosis, ping testing, CPU monitoring, and memory monitoring make fault finding more straightforward. The galvanized metal housing supports desktop or 19-inch 1U rack installation. A built-in AC power supply works with 100–240V input, while two 12–48V DC inputs provide power redundancy with automatic changeover and reverse-polarity protection.

With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C, 6kV lightning protection, IP40 protection, and industrial EMC testing, this rack-mount L3 managed industrial Ethernet switch fits demanding indoor and semi-protected industrial environments. It is a suitable choice for system integrators, plant network engineers, transportation operators, energy contractors, mining projects, marine installations, and SMB IT teams that need high port density, fiber reach, and manageable operating costs in one chassis.
