36-Port L3 Switching for Industrial Fiber Networks
The IS830-8E24F4F-60W is a 36-port L3 managed industrial fiber switch with 24 SFP 4 SFP+ 10G uplink rack mount design for aggregation, core, and backbone connections in demanding network environments. It combines 8 Gigabit RJ45 data ports, 24 100/1000M SFP fiber slots, and 4 1/10G SFP+ slots in a 1U metal chassis. This layout gives network teams a practical way to connect local copper devices, extend fiber access, and reserve high-speed uplinks for servers, control centers, or upstream core switches.
Many industrial networks outgrow ordinary access switches when camera traffic, PLC data, wireless access points, and management systems share the same backbone. This switch addresses that problem with non-blocking, wire-speed forwarding, a 598Gbps switching capacity, and up to 107.14Mpps forwarding performance. The 10G SFP+ ports help reduce uplink congestion when several fiber segments converge at the aggregation layer. SFP slots also allow installers to select single-mode or multimode transceivers, single-fiber or dual-fiber modules, and transmission distances suited to the site instead of replacing the whole switch.
Its Layer 3 feature set supports IPv4 and IPv6 management, static routes, default routes, and communication between different VLANs or IP subnets. For an industrial park, rail station, or factory floor, administrators can separate production equipment, video surveillance, office users, and maintenance devices while still controlling how these networks communicate. Up to 4K VLANs, Voice VLAN, QinQ, protocol-based VLAN, MAC-based VLAN, and Access, Trunk, or Hybrid port modes support both straightforward deployments and more structured network designs.
Reliability matters when a switch sits in a remote cabinet or controls a critical fiber ring. The switch supports STP, RSTP, MSTP, and ITU-T G.8032 ERPS. ERPS recovery can be less than 20ms under the specified network conditions, while STP-family protocols provide flexible redundancy for different topologies. A ring can include up to 250 rings with up to 254 devices per ring. When a fiber path is cut or a node becomes unavailable, traffic can move through the backup path quickly, reducing service interruption for surveillance, transportation, power, and automation applications.
For daily operations, network staff can use HTTPS web management, CLI through the console, Telnet or SSH, and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. LLDP, system logs, RMON, NTP, port statistics, cable diagnosis, ping testing, CPU utilization, and memory monitoring make fault isolation more practical. Instead of checking every field device first, an administrator can review link status, traffic behavior, and system load from the management interface. One-key factory reset is also available when a unit must be returned to a known configuration.
Security and traffic control are built around real deployment needs. ACL rules can filter traffic by MAC address, IP address, protocol, TCP/UDP port, VLAN, and other fields. 802.1X and MAC authentication help restrict access at the edge, while IP-MAC-VLAN-Port binding, DHCP snooping, ARP inspection, port isolation, MAC learning limits, and anti-DoS functions reduce common access-layer risks. QoS supports 802.1p and DSCP mapping, eight output queues per port, rate limiting, packet filtering, and SP, WRR, or SP+WRR scheduling, so control data and voice or video traffic can receive the handling they require.
The fanless aluminum housing avoids moving parts that can collect dust or fail in the field. The switch operates from -40°C to +80°C and supports AC 100–240V input with two 12V DC inputs, reverse-polarity protection, automatic power switching, and a fault alarm interface. It can be installed on a desktop or in a standard 19-inch 1U cabinet. This makes the switch a suitable choice for industrial Ethernet aggregation, intelligent transportation, rail transit, power distribution, mining, oil and gas, marine, metallurgy, and renewable energy networks where stable fiber connectivity and manageable operating costs matter.
