Managed Gigabit Connectivity for Industrial Networks

The IS700-10E4F is built for network cabinets, roadside control boxes, substations, plant floors and other locations where a standard office switch may not be enough. It provides 10 copper Gigabit Ethernet ports for cameras, PLCs, controllers, access points and local workstations, plus 4 Gigabit SFP slots for fiber uplinks between cabinets or across longer cable runs. For teams comparing a 4-port gigabit managed industrial ethernet switch with 2 SFP, this model offers a larger copper access capacity and four independent SFP interfaces for projects that need room to expand.

Every Ethernet port supports 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation, while the SFP slots accept 100/1000Base-X optical modules. Multimode links can reach up to 500 meters, and optional single-mode modules support distances up to 40 km at 1310 nm or up to 120 km at 1550 nm. The SFP modules are ordered separately, so the optical distance and fiber type can be matched to the actual site instead of being locked to one fixed configuration.

Designed for Fast Recovery and Easier Troubleshooting

Network interruptions are costly in traffic systems, production lines and remote monitoring applications. The switch supports G.8032 ERPS with a recovery time of less than 20 ms, as well as STP, RSTP and MSTP. These protocols let installers build ring or redundant uplink topologies and keep communication running when one link is cut. Up to 250 rings and 1,024 devices per ring are supported, giving system integrators flexibility when a project grows beyond a single cabinet.

Management functions cover the tasks that field engineers handle every day. Web management over HTTPS, CLI through the console port, Telnet, SSH 2.0 and SNMP v1/v2c/v3 are available for setup and monitoring. LLDP, cable diagnosis, system logs, NTP, ping testing and CPU utilization status help reduce time spent locating a bad cable, incorrect connection or overloaded device. IPv4/IPv6 management, static routing and default routes also allow the switch to take on basic Layer 3 traffic forwarding without adding a separate router for every small segment.

Traffic Control and Access Security

For industrial video, voice, control data and office traffic sharing the same network, the switch supports 4K IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, protocol- and MAC-based VLANs, Voice VLAN, QinQ, Access/Trunk/Hybrid modes and LACP link aggregation. IGMP and MLD snooping help limit multicast traffic to the ports that need it, which is useful for IP surveillance and control-room video. QoS provides eight output queues per port with 802.1p/DSCP mapping, rate limiting and SP, WRR or combined scheduling.

Administrators can apply ACL rules from Layer 2 to Layer 4, bind IP, MAC, VLAN and port relationships, enable 802.1X or MAC authentication, and use DHCP snooping, ARP inspection, IP source protection and port isolation. These controls are practical for separating contractor equipment, cameras, engineering laptops and control devices while keeping access rules visible and manageable.

Industrial Construction for Continuous Operation

The aluminum alloy housing and fanless cooling design reduce moving parts and help limit maintenance in dusty or vibration-prone locations. The switch operates from -40°C to +80°C, supports DIN-rail or desktop installation, and uses dual redundant DC power inputs with reverse-polarity protection. A fault relay can connect to a cabinet alarm or monitoring system, while 6 kV surge protection on Ethernet ports and IP40 protection add a useful layer of field protection. With power consumption below 15 W at full load, it is suitable for compact cabinets where heat and available power both matter.

Transportation, rail transit, electric power, mining, oil and gas, shipping, metallurgy, renewable energy and factory automation teams can use the switch as an access switch, fiber aggregation point or redundant ring node. It is a practical choice for IT administrators, system integrators and maintenance contractors who need managed gigabit industrial Ethernet, clear fault visibility and a network platform that can be maintained over the long term.
